Half Day Hike on Table Mountain

We offer a range of options, from a scenic amble to a thrilling ascent, ensuring there’s a perfect trail for every adventurer. The half day option takes you up the face of Table Mountain called  Platteklip Gorge

Platteklip Gorge Route

Known as the most direct, “easiest” and most popular route, Platteklip Gorge is a steep, staircase-like hike. It is a non-technical option, making it suitable for those who may have concerns about heights or being close to edges. This is a moderate (half-day) hike.

Each journey concludes with a leisurely stroll to the Upper Cable Car station, where an unforgettable descent awaits. You’ll marvel at the 360-degree views as the cable car gracefully rotates, providing a truly immersive experience before we transfer you back to your hotel.

Summit Stroll on Table Mountain

Our Summit Stroll is all about views and to this end we traverse the length of iconic ‘Table’ before looping back along a different trail. Setting out from the upper cable station, we are greeted with views towards the west and southwest comprising the Atlantic coast and the Twelve Apostles range. We then follow the rear rim of the plateau to obtain views towards the south: across the back of Table Mountain and down the Cape Peninsula.

Arriving on the eastern edge of the mountain provides views eastwards towards the Winelands and country mountains. Finally, on the exhilarating loop back to the upper station, we enjoy superb views towards the north: the city centre, Waterfront and West Coast including Robben Island.
