Bike and Hike Victoria Falls operation launched in April 2019 to much cheer and noise from the spectacular falls as the backdrop…and this was during a drought. Great news coming through from our team on the ground is that the falls are thundering once again, following impressive rains upstream. Water levels rise over this period every year but rarely at the mighty levels currently on display.

Heavy rainfall upstream means the Zambezi River, which feeds the falls, is now at its highest level for 20 years and has seen the amount of water cascading over the rocky outcrop increase by ten times since January

Our fully guided cycle tours meander alongside picturesque walkways alongside the falls, covering our guests in with a fine magical mist, very welcome on a hot day in Africa.

More water is on the way from Angola, some 480 miles away, meaning the falls is on course to top up the torrent to levels not seen since the Seventies. This spectacular event will be remembered by locals and missed by tourists due to Covid-19 gripping the world. Never fear, Victoria Falls delights and impresses all year, every year no matter the water levels passing through at the time.

Our Bike and Hike team operate daily cycle tours at Victoria Falls starting at 9am and a sunset cycle starting at 4pm. Advanced bookings are required. We look forward to sharing the natural wonder and World Heritage Site with you soon.
