PROGRAM

DAY 1
Arrival, dinner and welcome briefing with guide at guesthouse in Killarney.

DAY 2 Muckross, Killarney National
A gentle walk through Killarney National Park allows you you to experience the stunning lake and mountain scenery as well as the historical aspect of the Park, with a visit of 19th century Muckross House. In the evening you will be taken by jaunting car to a traditional Irish pub for a celebration of two ancient Irish traditions.

DAY 3 Ross Castle, Ross Island and Killarney Town
Your morning walk takes you for a visit of a 15th century Ross castle, majestically set on the shores of the Killarney Lakes. Afterwards we follow the old mining and historical trail along Ross Island, with spectacular views over the lakes and Irish Inniafallen Island.

DAY 4 Glenbeigh and the magnificent Atlantic Ocean
Transfer along the famous Ring of Kerry route to Glenbeigh Your morning's walk will take you along magnificent Rossbeigh beach. The afternoon offers a variety of options: horseriding along the beach, the challenge of an old fashioned hedge maze and an option to play grazy glof.

DAY 5 On the Quest for Holy water and Celtic Gold
Today's programme is certainly one with a difference! In the morning, you will be joined by a water diviner, who will show you the ancient art of water divining and take you to an old Irish Holly Well and ancient Irish sites to practise your newly acquired skills.

DAY 6 Art and Music
A short peachful countryside walk this morning will take you to a wonderfull art studio where you can admire and learn about the ancient art of bog sculputures - sculpting wood which is 5000 years old. After dinner in your guest house back to the pub where we invite you to meet the locals.

DAY 7 Valentia Island
Today you have the option of a guided walk or a self guided cycle around Valentia Island. A short ferry ride will take you to this small island, rich in wild and marine life, standing stones, sub tropical flora and which was also the location for the first transatlantic cable.

DAY 8 Departure
After your final breakfast in your guesthouse you may opt for a complimentary transfer to either Shannon or Kerry Airport.

1.2 The Dingle Way walking tour
 
A walk from Kerry's country town Tralee, to the fishing port of Dingle and beyond, through one of the last strongholds of the Gaelic language and through spectacular scenery, rich in archaeological remains. Along the way we pass mountains, corrie lakes and beaches - the setting of many films, including " Ryan's Daughter".

The avarge walking time ranges from 5 to 6.5 hours per day, at a leisurely pace.

PROGRAM

DAY 1 Arival in Killarney

DAY 2 Killarney - Black Valley (21 km)
Walk through Killarney National Park passing the ruins of Muckross Friary, Muckross House and its gardens up beside Torc Waterfall and along the Old Kenmare Road to the ancient oak woods beside the Killarney's Upper lake.

DAY 3 Black Valley - Glencar ( 21 km)
Today you walk through rugged and lonely ice carved glens of Mid Kerry to overnight in storied Glencar.

DAY 4 Glencar - Glenbeigh (17 km)
You walk from Glencar, with magical views of Caragh Lakem to the village of Glenbeigh, with its sandy beaches. Overnight Glenbeigh.

DAY 5 Rest/Option Day in Glenbeigh
Choice of local walks (notes provided), Adventure sports.

DAY 6 Glenbeigh - Foilmore (18 km)
Today's walkingf takes you on the early Christian route from Glenbeigh , with detours to archaeological artefacts and views across Dingle Bay and out to the Atlantic Ocean. Overnight Foilmore.

DAY 7 Foilmore - Caherciveen (22 km)
A short walk, perhaps a morning one, complete the journey along the northern side of Iveragh Peninsula to the coastal, and ancient settlement of Cahersiveen, from which transfer for final night in Killarney.

DAY 8 Departure
